She asked for some air and I showed her the door. Of course she always leaves me wanting more. Can we really go back to what we had before? Every time her name is spoken I am broken into pieces Waiting for her by the phone. How did I end up here? I don’t want to end up alone. Of course she always leaves me wanting more. I’m finding all the little things are harder to ignore. Of course she always leaves me wanting more. How many excuses am I ready to fall for? Every trip feels like a tumble And I’m crumbling into pieces each with a mind of their own. How did I end up here? I don’t want to end up alone. I walk and I wander and I wonder when I’ll put all the pieces together again. I try and I tread but I dread that I’ll find I need to leave pieces of myself behind. Of course she always leaves me wanting more. I wanted love but I started a war. Of course she always leaves me wanting more. Yet the more I love the more it feels like a chore. As time starts to rush I am crushed into pieces Knowing things I wish I hadn’t known. How did I end up here? I don’t want to end up alone. I don’t want to end up alone.
